Texas Hold'em High

In Texas Hold'em, each player receives two cards face down. Then a total of five cards are placed face-up in the middle of the table. The players now make the highest possible combination of a maximum of five cards from the two of their own and/or the five open cards.

Texas Holdem the "Cadillac of Poker"

So you can play Texas Holdem in different ways where the basic rules (order of cards and hand values) are always the same. The difference is in the way of betting, the betting structure. We will discuss the 3 main types of Texas Holdem on this page.

In addition to Fixed Limit Texas Holdem, you also have Pot Limit Texas Holdem and the most beautiful variant No-Limit Texas Holdem. The names speak for themselves a bit. For example, Fixed Limit Texas Holdem is with limited bets in both the size and number of bets, with Pot Limit Texas Holdem you can bet a maximum of the pot, and no-limit Texas Holdem will release all brakes. With this last variant, you can put anything on the table for your poker chips, push 'All-Inn' into the pot at any time in one smooth movement. It is common when we play online poker tournaments to stand up when doing this. If you lose the pot, you are out of the online poker tournament and you can leave the table immediately. Of course accompanied by warm applause from the remaining players, who are happy that they have lost a competitor again. Now you immediately understand why the No-Limit Texas Holdem variant is the most popular. After all, nothing beats the tension that rushes through your body if you risk your entire assets in one go. But especially the few seconds you have to wait to see how your opponents react to this 'All-Inn' action. Just delicious.

You now know that there are several variations of poker out there, so let's start with a little below general poker rules explain. English terms such as "call" and "raise" will be used in the explanation. In the explanation of the poker rules, their meaning is of course explained first. Texas Hold'em poker card game consists of 52 poker cards and no jokers. So you immediately understand that getting the namesake of the game, poker (5 equal cards) is not possible. The Dealer Button moves one space per game (clockwise) and so all poker players take turns getting this button. This button marks the position of the dealer, which means that each poker player must take turns dealing. Before the game starts, the player immediately to the left of the dealer must place a mandatory bet (the small blind). The poker player directly to the left of the small blind, must then also place a mandatory bet (the big blind). The big blind is always equal to 2 times the small blind.

The dealer gives each player 2 cards, which no one else is allowed to see. These cards are also called hole or pocket cards. Now there is a betting round. Here you can move, call, fold, raise or discard your cards. Make sure you always clearly place your bet in front of you so that everyone can see what has been bet this round so that there can never be a misunderstanding about the bet made, after all, the proof is in front of you. After the betting round has ended and the dealer has collected all bets in the large pot, the dealer places 3 cards face up (the flop) on the table. Anyone can use these cards in combination with his own 2 cards. The aim is to form the highest possible hand with 5 cards, no matter which 5 of the possible 7 cards (2 in your hand + 5 on the table) you use.

After this betting round has ended and the dealer has collected all bets in the large pot, the dealer places 1 face-up card (The Turn of Turn Card) on the table. This is also a community card and available to anyone to make the highest hand possible. When everyone still in the pot has finished betting, all bets go back to the big pot and the dealer deals the last card ( The River ). Now the last and therefore automatically the most important betting round follows when everyone has moved, the showdown follows. In this case, the player who placed first must place his cards face up on the table then the next one counting clockwise. Also, the second third fourth player may decide to throw their cards face down because they see that they have lesser cards than one of the previous players who has already placed his cards face-up on the table. This way it keeps guessing for everyone which hand you called and so you remain difficult to guess in the next game round.
